5 29TH ANNUAL CRIME PREVENTION GUIDE MESSAGE FROM THE PEIPA PRESIDENT EXECUTIVE MEMBERS On behalf of the members of the Prince Edward Island Police Association, I would like to thank the citizens and business members in our Island communities for supporting our 29th Annual Crime Prevention Guideon Mental Health Awareness. We very much appreciate your financial contributions and your interest in our communitypublication. Statistics suggest that one in five Canadians will experience a mental illness in any given year, and that nearly half of all Canadians will have experienced a mental illness by the time they reach age 40. With such staggering prevalence, it’s time to talk about it and to ensure that resources are available to those in distress. It’s time to end the stigma, and treat mental health like we would our physical health.
